The Excelsior Springs Board of Education participated in a board development workshop facilitated by the Missouri School Boards' Association on January 26th, 2016. The workshop provided an overview of continuous improvement approaches and strategies and emphasized the important role that board members play in monitoring district performance.
Excelsior Springs School District #40 has rolls of old artificial turf that have been removed from Tiger Stadium available for the community.

The Excelsior Springs school board invites the public to a listening post to share their thoughts, ideas, questions and concerns of the education system in our community.
The Champions of Character High School Award recognizes Kansas City Metro area high school student-athletes who best exemplify the five Champions of Character core values in athletic competition and everyday life.
Due to the Royals celebration and the variety of challenges that has created, including student attendance concerns and a shortage of staff substitutes, the Excelsior Springs School District is cancelling classes on Tuesday, November 3. This will be treated like an inclement weather day and will be made up at the end of the year. The last day of school will now be Friday, May 20th.

An article was published in Principal Leadership written by Excelsior Springs own Chris Hubbuch and Keelie Stucker from the middle school. The article is titled, "Keeping it Positive by Design".

Coach Bonuchi came to Excelsior Springs in 1959 as an assistant football coach and physical education teacher from William Jewell College where he was a stand-out 3 sport athlete.

The 2014-15 school year was another outstanding year for the Excelsior Springs School District. Our state test score results were above state average in twenty exams.

Lisa Fiorino, Excelsior Springs Food Service Director, was honored by OPAA! as one of the top food service director's in the company.
Northland CAPS in partnership with seven Northland school districts (Excelsior Springs, Kearney, Liberty, North Kansas City, Park Hill, Platte County and Smithville) and twelve business partners will be conducting Northland SEE (Summer Externship Experience) on July 21, 22 and 23.

Due to flooding in the area, bus service may run behind this morning for summer school. Students near H and JJ may see delays. Bus service will run where possible, but if a driver determines a road not to be safe to cross, they will turn around.
ESSD received the Golden Achievement Award from the National School Public Relations Assoc. for its POUNCE publication.
Students in the Excelsior Springs School District were met with appreciation at Tan Tar A while attending a statewide conference for Positive Behavior Intervention or PBIS.

Due to the flooding in Mosby, there will be no bus service or stops in Mosby on Monday May 18th, 2015. Bus #10 will run its route, but please be patient as it may run late due to road conditions. All other buses plan to run normal routes as weather and road conditions allow.
