Excelsior Springs Student Up for Athlete of Character Award

The Champions of Character High School Award recognizes Kansas City Metro area high school student-athletes who best exemplify the five Champions of Character core values in athletic competition and everyday life. 

Kelsey Mueller will represent Excelsior Springs High School for this year’s award based on this nomination:

“Being a student peer mentor, team captain, and remaining in the top 10% of her class, Kelsey Mueller is the epitome of a student who is a champion of character. This exceptional young lady is the master of balance as she is involved in a variety of activities ranging from football, soccer team captain, dance team, Link Leader, National Honor’s Society, and Natural Helpers.Whether it is in the classroom, on the field, or working with younger students, she is an exemplary role model for those around her.”

“Kelsey is an excellent student,leader, and also an outstanding individual.  She excels in the classroom and is looked upon for her leadership.  She understands the value of goal setting and the importance of team work and setting a good example for those around her. She has shown the ability to bounce back from adversity and is willing to put in extra time to improve on weaknesses. She realizes that success can only be obtained through hard work and approaching each task with a positive attitude.”

Kelsey will be recognized at the Champions of Character Foundation Luncheon on November 9, 2015.  One overall award winner will be chosen from all nominations and receive a $500 scholarship.
